السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَا صَدِيقِي الْعَزِيزَ! كَيْفَ كَانَتْ أَيَّامُكَ الْمَاضِيَةُ؟

Peace be upon you, my dear friend! How have your past few days been?

وَعَلَيْكُمُ السَّلَامُ! كَانَتْ أَيَّامًا مُمْتِعَةً بِفَضْلِ اللهِ، وَكَيْفَ يَسِيرُ عَمَلُكَ؟

And upon you be peace! By God's grace they were wonderful; how is your work going?

الْعَمَلُ مُمْتَازٌ وَلَكِنَّنِي مَشْغُولٌ جِدًّا هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامَ بِمَشْرُوعٍ جَدِيدٍ

Work is great, though I am extremely busy these days with a new project.

هَلْ يُنَاسِبُكَ أَنْ نَتَنَاوَلَ طَعَامَ الْعَشَاءِ مَعًا فِي مَطْعَمٍ عَرَبِيٍّ مَسَاءَ الْيَوْمِ؟

Would it suit you to have dinner together at an Arabic restaurant this evening?

فِكْرَةٌ رَائِعَةٌ جِدًّا! يُسْعِدُنِي كَثِيرًا أَنْ أَلْتَقِيَ بِكَ اللَّيْلَةَ

That is a wonderful idea! I would be very happy to meet you tonight.

فِي أَيِّ سَاعَةٍ نَلْتَقِي، وَأَيْنَ يَقَعُ الْمَطْعَمُ بِالتَّحْدِيدِ؟

At what time shall we meet, and where exactly is the restaurant located?

نَلْتَقِي عِنْدَ السَّاعَةِ السَّابِعَةِ وَالنِّصْفِ بِالْقُرْبِ مِنَ الْمَيْدَانِ الرَّئِيسِيِّ

Let us meet at seven-thirty near the central city square.

مُمْتَازٌ! أَتَطَلَّعُ إِلَى حَدِيثِنَا الْمُمْتِعِ وَتَبَادُلِ الْأَخْبَارِ

Excellent! I look forward to our enjoyable talk and sharing news.

لَا تَنْسَ أَنْ تُحْضِرَ مَعَكَ الْكِتَابَ الَّذِي تَحَدَّثْنَا عَنْهُ

Do not forget to bring along the book we spoke about earlier.

بِالتَّأْكِيدِ، لَنْ أَنْسَى؛ أَرَاكَ عَلَى خَيْرٍ هَذَا الْمَسَاءَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ
